Welcome to Costume Wardrobe.
In 2009 my blogging focus has undergone several reinventions as I shift from interest to interest. For those of you interested in only one or two of the topics here, you can now subscribe to specific blogs. This site is a portal to these blogs which will display the latest updates.
Let's make things! I love making just about anything from sewing costumes to embroidery, drawing and computer artwork. I will give anything a go even if I find that I'm not particularly good enough to share the outcomes. Creating fills me with happiness.
So how did I get here?
In September 2003 I came across a re-enactment club in my area and became involved in their activities. With little sewing experience, I decided to make my own costumes and strive to achieve a high level of authenticity in keeping with their "living history" aims. I began hand sewing and documenting my work towards the end of 2004.
Soon after I happened upon the Australian Costumers' Guild and the local cosplay scene, which drastically broadened my approach to costuming causing me to look into many new concepts and techniques. I try to regularly attend Adelaide's AVCon, Melbourne or Brisbane Supanova and Manifest in Melbourne.
